Full Stack Software Developer

Phoenix builds software for the apparel products industry.

We are creating a consumer web experience in a B2B product.

We've assembled experts from the media and apparel industries and have a strategic partnership with one of the largest supply chain partners in the consumer apparel industry.

We're focused on building a start-up-friendly full stack software engineering team to grow our products and make an impact. This position is based in our Vancouver office.

What you’ll be doing

  • Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products
  • Master our development process, culture and code base, then improve it
  • Work closely with a team of engineers, product manager and user experience designer to build new features our customers will love, adopt and use while keeping our platform stable and scalable
  • Contribute test strategies and write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage metrics
  • Improve processes and technologies by embracing emerging standards while promoting best practices 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience developing or maintaining high-performance web applications with high business impact
  • Experience writing clean code that performs well at scale; you have shipped production code in both interpreted languages (Javascript, PHP, Python, Ruby) and compiled languages (Golang, Java, Scala)
  • Experience running, testing, and contributing to a complex front-end application built on a current JavaScript framework (Experience with React preferred)
  • Experience using AWS Services to develop or maintain applications using modern security best practices
  • An understanding of SaaS software development practice. Previous experience working on a SaaS product will be viewed favourably
  • Problem Solving: uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems
  • Resilience, Tolerance for Change/Ambiguity: can effectively cope with change, finding ways to advance work and projects
